Innovative Grid Services Pvt. Ltd. is a smart-grid technology company incubated at the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, IIT Kanpur. We design indigenous hardware and software for power utilities, industries and smart cities — and were recognized as IEEE UP Section Startup of the Year 2025.
We operate from two locations — the SIIC at IIT Kanpur (R&D and headquarters) and the IIT Kanpur Extension Centre in Noida, Sector 62 (industry and customer engagement).
Our flagship products include the Breaker Guard, Micro PMU, MEMS (Microgrid EMS), Smart Plug, Protocol Converter, Smart Meter Solution, Feeder Monitoring System, HF Inverter and our ADMS Solution. Full descriptions are on the Products page.
Yes. All of our hardware is designed at IIT Kanpur and manufactured through our Indian supply chain. Software stacks, firmware and embedded code are written by our in-house team.
Absolutely. We natively support Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, MQTT and modern REST/streaming interfaces — and our Protocol Converter exists to bridge legacy field assets to modern SCADA/EMS stacks.
It depends on scope. A focused pilot — say Breaker Guard on a few panels or feeder monitoring on a dozen feeders — usually runs 4–8 weeks from PO to commissioning. Larger ADMS or AMI deployments are sized as multi-phase programs.
Yes. We have field-proven integrations with the major SCADA, EMS and MDM platforms used by Indian utilities. We don't ask you to rip out existing systems — we extend them.
We strongly prefer pilot-first engagements. A 60-to-90 day pilot lets your team validate value before scaling, and helps us tune the solution to your specific operational realities.
Standard engagements include warranty, firmware updates and L1–L2 support. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for L3 support, dedicated SLAs, on-site engineers and 24×7 monitoring are available as add-ons.
Security is built in from the firmware up — signed updates, encrypted communications, role-based access, audit logs and OT-aware threat modeling. We can also deliver hardening reviews and red-team exercises as a service.
Yes. We partner with SIs and EPCs on utility, smart-city and industrial bids — including OEM-style supply, white-labelled platforms and joint go-to-market arrangements.
Active collaborations are a part of how we build. We work with IIT Kanpur and other research institutions on joint research, dissertations, lab kits and grant-funded development.
The fastest path is the contact form. Pick "Products" or "Services", tell us your use case and we'll come back within one business day with next steps.
